What is pilates?  A systematic practice of specific exercises coupled with focused breathing to strengthen, stretch and balance the body. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1930's, it was embraced by the professional dance community as a way to condition and when needed, rehabilitate injuries.  Over the past 15 years, Pilates has grown and evolved and is effectively used as a training model for all levels of fitness.  It is a great way to get to know your own body by learning good technique and proper body mechanics.  The Reformer and Stability Chair are two staples used in pilates training and though they may look unconventional, their uses are endless.

Body Refined combines the best of the traditional fitness world with Pilates specific apparatus and methods, along with various other pieces of equipment to keep each workout interesting, challenging, safe and effective.  


A personal love of Yoga inspired me to add  this perfect compliment to pilates & fitness training.  After taking classes for years, it only made sense for me to add Yoga to the mix.  Yoga can be added as part of any session…or have a full hour of private instruction.  Small groups of  up to 5 people can also be accommodated.
